ABOUT US

Allowing our children to Grow & develop.

A happy, caring, secure, stimulating and loving Christian community.

OUR VISION

A school guided by our Christian vision.

At Syresham St James CE Primary School and Nursery, our children are at the heart of everything we do. Guided by our Christian vision and inspired by the words:

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full,” John 10:10

The scalloped shell of St James serves as a guide for pilgrims, with its grooved lines converging at the base — a symbol that all pathways lead to the same place.

Every child begins their school journey from a unique starting point. We plan carefully to ensure each pupil is supported and challenged with rich opportunities at the right time. Some progress steadily, others move ahead quickly and set ambitious goals. Our role is to guide children through each stage of their development, helping every child arrive as a happy, confident, and successful individual.

OUR VALUES

Our Christian Values underpin all that we do.

Each half term we focus on a particular value. We then display this value in our classrooms, through images, work or quotes to help children fully understand what they mean and how they link to their own lives.

Our Values are the foundations of our school, in particular our behaviour policy to help support the children understand their behaviour and consequences of their actions. This helps them to make the right choices, take responsibility for their actions and ensure that children follow these values both in school and in their lives outside of school.

We weave these into our curriculum in an annual cycle, where each half term has its own special focus:

  1. Courage and Resilience
  2. Generosity
  3. Respect
  4. Forgiveness
  5. Love
  6. Fairness/Justice
