As a team of volunteers, our role is to work with the Headteacher and staff to support and promote school improvement, ensuring that all pupils receive a high standard of teaching and learning, enabling them to reach or exceed their potential in an environment which is safe and happy. We strive to offer a wealth of opportunities and positive experiences for all of our children.
Our three key roles as a Governing Body are;
1. Setting the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school
2. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school
3. Ensuring the sound, proper and effective use of the school’s financial resources
We also have legislative responsibility and strategic oversight of the school’s safeguarding arrangements.
We act in accordance with the Governors’ Code of Conduct, which is reviewed and adopted annually.
As a Full Governing Body, we meet six times per school year. Some of the business of the Governing Body is delegated to our Committees as follows;
•Curriculum Committee
•Finance, Resources and Pay Committee
Both Committees have a membership of at least three Governors and meet at least three times per school year.
